who do you root for?

madonna offends the church.

shocker.

i admit that i've never gotten the whole madonna thing. i try to be respectful of it because i know that she's served as an inspiration and role-model of sorts for a lot of women over the years. but seriously, am i really to believe that she's some sort of feminist icon? because she "takes control of her sexuality" or whatever?

madonna is as much of a trend-hopper as any other pop performer. the fact that she may be marginally more respectable than the jessica simpsons of the world is faint praise at best. and now she's reduced to recycling her own catholic shtick from two decades(!) ago in a crass attempt at remaining relevant to anything. "wow, look at me, i got the catholic church's panties in a bunch!" yeah, 'cause that's real hard to do.
