i am a terrible blogger.

there. i said it.

i started this thing a while back, not expecting it to be a big thing in my life, but more just as an exercise in actually externalizing a few of the many random thoughts that careen through my skull most days. turns out my laziness has so far been winning the war against whatever sense of literary exhibitionism i may possess. and oh man, are your lives ever the poorer for it.

ok, here's something: i just started reading this book by bob woodward (of watergate fame) called "the commanders". it's an account of the period of time from the election of george bush the 1st in 1988 up to the start of the first gulf war in '91. it seeks to document that administration's views on and use of military force as a foreign policy tool. it involves people named bush, cheney (bush's secretary of defense), and powell. sound familiar?
